Lost in Translation

Here are a few more photos from the Japan leg of our trip. After spending a week in Tokyo with Peter, we hopped on the shinkansen bullet trains to explore the country.

The shrines around Nara were peaceful and beautiful, and we stayed in a couple of really cute little ryokans. We also amused ourselves by stalking geishas through the back streets of Kyoto.

Good enough to eat: We were mesmerised by the plastic food on display outside the restaurants, which is so good it’s almost better than the real thing

Unhappy fish: We went to the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo early one morning. It was crazily busy, with people and carts flying around everywhere.
We’d planned a sushi breakfast afterwards, but we felt sorry for all the fish so we gave them a day off.
